Dr Jonathan Rosenthal studied his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Cape Town.  He has obtained a post-graduate Internal Medicine qualification from the College of Medicine of South Africa and a post graduate  Honours Degree from the University of Stellenbosch in Underwater Medicine. Additional training and involvement has taken place both within South Africa and abroad.

His junior career was spent at Groote Schuur and 2 Military Hospitals in the Western Cape of South Africa. During his time as a military doctor he was able to gain broad experience across a variety of medical and surgical disciplines including experience including:

  • Internal Medicine
  • Intensive Care Unit
  • General Surgery
  • Paediatrics
  • Emergency and Casualty Medicine
  • Naval and Diving Medicine

Dr Rosenthal moved into the private sector in 1999 and over the ensuing has become the Medical Director of National Hyperbarics Pty Ltd and Tokai Medicross Medical Center. He has given support lecture and examination support to the University of Stellenbosch’s Underwater Medicine and Hyperbarics Medicine training program. He has held the office of President of the Southern African Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Association.

Dr Rosenthal consults to a variety of organisations as their Designated Medical Practitioner or advisor with experience within:

  • Medico-legal consulting
  • Local and International commercial diving companies
  • Para-statal organisations
  • Scientific, environmental and academic organisations
  • Diving training schools
  • Media diving organisations

Dr Rosenthal is involved across all areas of the company playing a particularly prominent role in the development of new business and coordination of the various supporting associates.
