Occupational Medical Services
MedOccs has a team of dedicated Occupational Health personnel. The occupational medicine team is headed by a Specialist in Occupational Medicine (holding the MMed (Occupational Medicine) degree). The rest of the team involves medical practitioners who hold a minimum of a two-year postgraduate diploma in Occupational Medicine and Occupational Health Nursing practitioners.
Services include:
- Performing complex and specialized Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), with the provision of a formal risk assessment report.
- Guiding of Industrial Hygienists in terms of specific health risks and the assessment thereof
- Development of medical surveillance programmes for employees
- Performing health and safety audits, including legal compliance audits
- Performing on-site medical examinations of employees, including entry, periodical, screening and exit medicals
- Disability and incapacity management
- Evaluation and management of sickness absence
- Development and implementation of various health and safety programmes, e.g. substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and other communicable diseases, Employee Assistance Programmes, etc.
